Update: About one hour after posting this, we learn that an F-16 just collided with a small aircraft in Berkeley Co. SC. Jets use low level training routes to exceed 250 knots below 10,000 feet, and these routes criss-cross the skies at the altitudes we fly HEMS.

ReplyDeleteInteresting. In the beginning of this video, you can hear one guy calling out traffic. When the pilot responds that he sees it, you can hear the doubt in his voice. Its as if he is saying he sees the traffic, not because he does, but because a positive reposnse to the original question is what he thinks is appropriate.
ReplyDeleteHigh and in fly is no place to be macho or say what you think the other person wants to hear. If you don't see something when asked, don't lie. This is no place for it and no penalties will be enforced. Just tell the truth and hopefully well all get back to the ground safely.
Interesting video. It really shows how hard it can be when sitting that high in the sky. Thanks for posting.
